(Portland, OR)  --  The Portland Timbers will move on to the Round of 16 in U.S. Open Cup play, after shutting out San Jose, 2-0, at Providence Park.  Dairon Asprilla and Jack McInerney each scored in the first half for the Timbers, who were able to make the lead stand up the rest of the way.  Portland will return to MLS play Saturday evening, when they visit Real Salt Lake.
