(Portland, OR)  --  The LA Galaxy edged the Timbers, 1-nil, in the round of 16 of the U.S. Open Cup at Providence Park.  Raul Mendiola's fifth-minute goal was the only score of the match.  Darlington Nagbe rejoined Portland after playing for the U.S. Men's National Team in the Copa America Centenario but was unable to find the net.  The Timbers return to MLS action on Monday when they travel to Colorado to face the Rapids.
