Final home game of the summer last night at Vince Genna Stadium with the Bend Elks entertaining North Puget Sound.
The Elks battled back to tie the game 4-4 in the 8th inning off George Mendazona’s double, but in the 9th, a Bend error opened the door for North Sound to notch a 5-4 win.
Bend has been involved in 15 one-run decisions this summer out of 54 games, and have only been on the upside, 5-times.
The Elks closes out the Westcoast League play this weekend in Gresham with a 3-game series starting Friday. The Elks will not get the chance to defend the Westcoast League Title as Bend was eliminated from playoff contention 4-days ago.
