Philomath Cancels Football Season Following Hazing Incident

(Philomath, OR)  --  Philomath High School is canceling the remainder of its football season.  Six players and one assistant coach have been cited in an alleged hazing incident at a team training camp in July.  The school initially had decided to cancel its first three games, but the Philomath School Board opted to cancel the remainder of the varsity season.  The program's coaching staff is on paid administrative leave as law enforcement and the district continue to investigate.
