On to Big League baseball where the Seattle Mariners trying to make a strong run with time running out on the Wildcard playoff chase.

The Mariners nip the Angels 2-to-1 in Anaheim last night as Nelson Cruz and Kyel Seager each homered giving Seattle their 8th straight win…their longest win streak of the summer.

The M’s are still 8-1/2 games back of the A-L West division leading Rangers with 16-games to play in the regular season.

Seattle with today off ending their road trip, and will begin a 7-game home stand tomorrow night hosting the Astros who they just past for 2nd place in the division.

Meantime…the A’s blank the Royals in Kansas City, 8-zip and will go for the 4-game series sweep tonight.

In the National League…the Padres beat the Giants again, 3-1.
SF is now 5-games back of the Dodgers for the West lead, and host the Cardinals tonight in a key potential Wildcard playoff showdown.
