The OSAA prep State Football quarterfinal playoffs kickoff tonight under the Friday Night Lights on the west side of Bend when top-ranked, and defending 5-A Champion Summit greets 8th ranked Dallas.
The Storm, 9-1 on the year, are trying to reach the Semifinals with a win for the second time in school history. Dallas is 8-and-3 overall, and finished 3rd place in the Mid-Willamette Valley League.
The winner meets either 4th ranked Lebanon, or #5 Ashland. If Ashland wins and Summit wins, the Grizzlies and Storm would meet for the 4th time in just two seasons. The two schools played for the Title a year ago, and met in week-2 this year with Summit beating Ashland, 35-21.
The other 5-A quarterfinal games see the Redmond Panthers travel to play Central. The Panthers shocked and upset 3rd ranked Silverton last week on the road, 35-27. Elsewhere, Wilsonville hosts St. Helens.
On the Soccer field…the Madras boys soccer team faces Newport tomorrow at 1pm in Hillsboro for the 4-A Championship.
