We tip it off this morning with Prep State basketball Tournament action where the Bend Lady Lava Bears are in the OSAA class-5A Final-4 at Oregon State tonight at 630pm.

Bend defeated, and got revenge with Marist as the Bears beat the Spartans, 46-36. The Lava Bears face top-seed La Salle in the Semifinals. Bend was led by IMC ‘Co-Player of the Year,’ Sophia Jackson’s 16 points as Bend shot 50% for the game.

Meantime, the Summit boys bounced back after their tournament opening loss Tuesday to hammer South Albany, 68-47 and advance to play for the Consolation, 4th Place trophy tomorrow morning at 1045am.

There is LIVE Web-TV of both the Bend girls and Summit boys games available by ‘pay-per-view’ with the NFHS Network produced by Play Action Sports Media.

Help Puerto Rico

Most organizations are asking for cash, rather than supplies, so they can route help to where it’s needed most more quickly. Here are some of the largest groups with campaigns underway:

  • Click on the link for the latest conditions on the mountain passes.

  • Intersection of NW Broadway Street and NW Delaware for waterline replacement project, road closures with detours clearly marked for thru traffic, 7 a.m. – 4 p.m. daily with roads opened nightly. Motorists are encouraged to avoid this area and use Bond Street and Wall Street.

  • Nels Anderson Road between Nels Anderson Place and Brandis Court, single northbound shoulder closure will be in effect, two-way traffic to be maintained. Project completion expected December 2017.
