On the local softball diamond…in 4-A action, Crook County’s girls have put together 9 straight wins after beating Madras yesterday, 13-3.

The 6th ranked Cowgirls lead the Tri-Valley Conference with a 9-0 league mark, and 13-4 overall. The loss drops Madras into a third-place tie. Same two teams meet tomorrow afternoon at 430 in Jefferson County.

In the IMC…Mt. View is making a run at Ridgeview for the League crown as the lady Cougs won their 4th straight game beating Summit yesterday, 7-4.

8th ranked Mt. View is just one-half game behind the 4th rated lady Ravens atop the IMC as the Cougs took two games last week from Ridgeview and will go for a 3-game sweep of Summit tomorrow on the west side.

In Baseball action…Summit, led by Alex Bailey’s 3-hit attack overpowered Mt. View Wednesday, 8-6. The Storm avenged a 5-2 home loss to the Cougars Tuesday, and will host Mt. View tomorrow in the rubber game of the 3-game weekly series.

Meantime, Bend crushed Redmond, 13-3. The Lava Bears go for the series sweep of the Panthers today at Bend High. Only 1½ games separate Bend, Summit and Mt. View for the IMC Championship with 3 weeks remaining in the regular season.
