The Prep 5A Intermountain Conference District Track & Field Championships wrap up with the final day of competition today at Redmond High School.

The top individual placers will qualify for the State Championships which begin next Thursday at legendary Hayward Track & Field in Eugene on the campus of the University of Oregon.

And, it’s the final week of regular season high school baseball, too, and yesterday La Pine claimed the Mountain Valley 3A league crown outright with its 7-4 win at Harrisburg. The Hawks, are ranked 2nd in the State with an 18-and-2 record.

La Pine will play an inter-league, non-league, twinbill tomorrow afternoon at Sisters taking on the Outlaws at 3pm. Sisters will head to State as the #2 seed from the Sky-Em League sporting a 16-and-8 mark.

Today in Prineville, Crook County entertains Madras to close out Tri-Valley league play. The Buffs lead the Cowboys by one-half game for 2nd place.

Meantime…the IMC pennant is still up for grabs with 2-games to play.
8th ranked Bend lead Summit by just one-half game. Yesterday, Bend routed Ridgeview, 17-7 while Summit pasted Redmond, 11-zip.

This afternoon Mt.View plays at Redmond at 1pm just before the IMC District Track finals begin at 4. Ridgeview and Mt. View both have a shot at the third, and final IMC baseball playoff spot.
