MLS Players Association Wants Ban On Political Signage Changed

(Undated)  -- The MLS Players Association is asking the league to change its policy banning political signage from matches.  Locally, the issue has seen pushback as the Emerald City Supporters, a group for the Sounders, has used the Iron Front symbol, which historically has been associated with an anti-Nazi and anti-fascist position.  The 107 Independent Supporters Trust, the nonprofit arm of the Timbers Army and Rose City Riveters, joined the Seattle supporters' cause earlier this month, suggesting the language should support inclusion and anti-discrimination.  The MLSPA took to social media Tuesday to support the cause and overturn the rule which it described as overly vague.
