WA Abortion-coverage Bill Approved By State House

(Olympia, WA)  --  A measure that would require health insurers whose plans cover maternity care to also offer abortion services is on its way to the Washington State Senate.  The bill's chief sponsor, Seattle Representative Eileen Cody, tells SeattlePI.com that the Reproductive Parity Act will likely become stalled in the GOP-controlled Senate as it did last year.  The bill passed the House on a 54-44 vote, mainly along party lines.
