Lori Raab, News Director: After leaving Central Oregon for 15 years Lori Raab is happy to be back!! She brings about 18 years of Radio and TV experience to KBND. Longtime KBND listeners may remember hearing Lori when she was the News Director in 1991. She also worked at KTVZ as a reporter and Anchor on KTVZ from 1992 to 1996.
Raab also spent several years reporting, anchoring and managing in the Portland and Seattle areas. She anchored a daily newscast that aired in Vancouver, Wa. and did reporter packages for KOIN-TV in Portland. She also managed, produced and hosted two news feature shows (NW Living and Northwest Sports) that aired in Portland, Eugene and Southwest Washington. While in Seattle, she worked at Northwest Cable News as an assignment editor. She covered the breaking news desk and also played a leadership role in producing a daily half hour show that took a deeper look into the big news stories and issues of the day.
She's a 1987 Honor Graduate of Washington State University's Edward R Murrow school of Broadcast Journalism. While at WSU in Pullman, Washington Raab earned an award that allowed her to work at KOMO-TV in Seattle as a paid Intern. She worked in the programming department as a production assistant and researcher.
Other honors include AP awards while at KBND radio and KTCI in Vancouver, and creative writing awards.
Raab has three kids and is married to a local radio announcer. She is happy to be back in Central Oregon. She missed the mountains, the smell of Juniper after a rain, and the amazing people who live here.
