College Baseball:
Number 21 Oregon upset Number 7 Oregon State 9 to 5 last night in Eugene. The Ducks won the last two games of the rivalry series. Beavers’ Second Baseman Travis Bazzana tied Jim Wilson for the team single-season home run record with 21.
MLB:
The Giants threatened in the 9th inning but were shut out 4- 0 by Boston yesterday afternoon. Pitcher Logan Webb took the loss giving up all four runs in three and 2 thirds innings. Game two of the series against the Red Sox is today. First pitch is at 12:10.
The Mariners hung on to beat Atlanta again last night to get the series win. Luis Castillo exited after seven shutout innings staked to a 3 run lead. The Ms gave up two runs in the 8th but Andres Munoz came on to get the save. Jorge Polanco had a two run Seattle Homer. Game 3 is today starting at 12:40
College Softball:
Oregon is ranked number 21 in the USA Softball Poll and 25th in the coaches poll ahead of this week’s conference finale at number 6 Stanford.
NFL:
In Seattle, Former Maryland QB Taulia Tagovailoa will be at the Seahawks’ rookie camp this weekend. Undrafted tight-end Jack Westover out of Washington has signed a free-agent contract. There’s also a report the ‘Hawks could be bringing back Safety Jamal Adams since they’re still lacking depth in that position.
