Less is More - Getting Down to One Can of Garbage

Join us for an evening of talking trash! Hear how and why Recycling Information Specialist for Portland Metro, Betty Shelley and her husband have produced just one 35-gallon can of garbage per year and learn how to make your own choices for sustainable living, from material waste output to reduced water and energy consumption. Local Sustainability Educator for The Environmental Center of Bend, Denise Rowcroft, will address how Betty’s suggestions can be implemented in our area, touching on easy ways we can reduce, reuse, recycle and even rethink about waste on a local, daily level. Lecture: Sustainable Wastewater Solutions

From 7:00PM to 9:00PM

Come learn about sustainable solutions to wastewater management, with discussion on Bend’s unique environmental situation and what has worked in other areas around the country. Presenter Morgan Brown will talk about trends in decentralization, sustainability, resource recovery, and biomimicry.
