BEND, OR -- Deschutes County District Attorney John Hummel says he will seek a second term. He was elected in 2014, handily beating incumbent Patrick Flaherty.
Hummel says crime dropped 8% under his tenure, even as the county’s population has grown.
The DA held his first campaign event Sunday, telling the audience he pledged to focus on programs to promote mental health and prevent drug abuse, while holding offenders accountable.
