SharedCare Covers Self Employed

Central Oregon workers now have a health plan option that helps low income or contractors and leased employees. SharedCare, the community health improvement plan offered though Health Matters of Central Oregon has begun offering coverage to those who use 1099 tax forms. The new program could be a real boost for construction contractors, real estate brokers, hairstylists, and others. The non-profit HealthMatters serves all Central Oregon counties through several programs that links people to health care providers that can the proactive in their health care. Officials with shared care say they are targeting those people who are working and can't afford health insurance and make to much for the Oregon Health Plan or Medicare and Medicaid.
