Redmond Schools Graduation Rate Climbs Again

REDMOND, OR -- Graduation rates in the Redmond School District keep improving according to an Oregon Department of Education Report Card. Superintendent Mike McIntosh says the graduation rates have increased 12-per cent in the past five years. He says that improvement includes Hispanic and Special Education students. McIntosh says one area of concern is chronic absenteeism. McIntosh says they have launched a campaign called, “Every Day Matters” to educate parents and students about the importance missing as little school as possible. He says a student who misses 10 school days a year during four years of high schoool ends up losing a year of school.
