BEND, OR -- A Bend brewery owner, Roger Worthington spoke at a conference this week about the need to pass the Clean Energy Jobs Bill, House Bill 2020. The bill would have put a cap on greenhouse gasses but did not pass the legislature. Republicans walked out of the state senate which prevented a vote due to a lack of a quorum. Worthington is one of the lead petitioners for the measure. He urges other business owners in Central Oregon to recognize the long term financial benefits of clean energy. Worthington says solar energy provides about 30-percent of the power at his brewery.
