BEND, OR -- Bend-La Pine Schools has approved a Safe Gun Storage resolution in an effort to prevent gun violence in local schools. Central Oregon Daily Brooke Snavely reports school board members Caroline Skidmore and Amy Tatom co-authored the resolution and it was unanimously approved. The school will send gun safety messages to the parents of 18,000 students. Skidmore says the safety messages won’t tell anyone what to do but will explain why safe gun storage is so important. The Bend Police Department offers free gun cable locks. For more details click here.
