REDMOND, OR -- The Redmond School Board is moving ahead with the search for a new superintendent to replace Mike Mcintosh, who has announced his retirement. McIntosh says, "The job will get posted in December and close at the end of January. The school board will spend February doing interviews and hiring. We should have someone named before Spring Break." At the last board meeting, a consultant outlined some characteristics the board should consider when hiring a new supperintendent. McIntosh says, "Those characteristics include an understanding of rural communities...an understanding of how to put students first...and an understanding the school budgeting process in Oregon." iMcIntosh is retiring at the end of the school year.
