Bend Police Urge Drivers To Be Aware of Pedestrians

BEND, OR -- Bend police are asking the public to be careful and observant when driving in areas where pedestrians are crossing streets and roads. There have been some wrecks involving cars and pedestrians in the north end of Bend. Police say Centers For Disease Control studies show most pedestrian deaths occur in urban areas, at non-intersection locations at night. Police urge pedestrians to carry a flashlight and wear reflective clothing and cross at a marked crosswalk.
