Oregon's Job Growth Outpaces the Nation's

In the last two months, Oregon has added more than 15 thousand jobs.

That is the largest job growth since December 2005 for the state.

State Economist Nick Bielichicks breaks down the numbers.

"Oregon added 6100 jobs in April which is pretty good, but less than the 8900 new jobs the state added in April. That is the strongest job growth that we've seen in the last twelve months."

Oregon's unemployment rate in April remained at 6.9 percent for the third month in a row.

The industries that added the most jobs include professional businesses services, healthcare and leisure and hospitality.
