(Polk County, OR) -- Two men accused of beating a drug informant to death are facing life sentences after pleading guilty. Forty-four-year-old Jimmy Fears and 24-year-old Zachary Mersch were sentenced yesterday after admitting to murdering 29-year-old James Hawkes the Fourth and leaving his body at a Polk County cemetery. The victim's body was found last December. Fears and Mersch will be eligible for parole after 25 years.
