(Salem, OR)  --  A suspect is in custody after a Salem man was found dead.  Police say 22-year-old Beau W. Smith is accused of killing 66-year-old Michael Hampshire, whose body was found around three a.m. yesterday, lying near the intersection of D Street Northeast and Winter Street Northeast.  Smith is identified as a Willamette University student who plays on the football team.  Police say Smith phoned police before Hampshire was found and told them he had been in a fight.
