(Olympia, WA) -- Washington Governor Jay Inslee plans to propose legislation that would require all non-Washington residents to pay a sales tax. Under the proposal, anyone from outside Washington who pays sales tax of more than 25 dollars per year can apply to get a full refund, but any unclaimed money would remain with the State of Washington beginning in fiscal year 2016. Economic and business consultant William Conerly told KOIN-TV that Inslee is counting on the fact that most Oregonians and others from out of state won't go to the trouble of filling out forms to get that money back.
