(Salem, OR) -- A bill that's intended to have drivers in Portland slow down is set for a hearing before a legislative panel. The measure would allow the city to set up traffic cameras and radar along so-called "high-crash" corridors and send tickets to speeders. Lawmakers pushing the bill say the Portland roadways being considered for the traffic cameras account for more than 50-percent of pedestrian fatalities. The measure is waiting to be heard by the House Committee On Transportation and Economic Development.
