Senate Committee Advances Paid-leave Bill

(Salem, OR)  --  A bill that would require many employers in Oregon to provide paid sick days for workers is advancing.  The Senate Workforce Committee has narrowly approved the measure, which will head next to the Joint Ways and Means Committee.  Under the bill, employers would be required to provide their workers with up to five days of paid sick time each year.  The bill would apply only to employers with six or more employees.
