No Charges In Connection With Fatal Crash In Lane County

(Eugene, OR)  --  Lane County prosecutors say no charges will be filed against a Springfield man who killed three children as they walked with their mother in a crosswalk.  Sixty-eight-year-old Larry LaThorpe told police he thought he had a green light and didn't see the family until his pickup truck hit them on February 22nd.  The crash killed eight-year-old John Alysander Day, five-year-old McKenzie Mae Hudson and four-year-old Tyler James Hudson and seriously injured their mother, Cortney Hudson-Crawford.  District Attorney Alex Gardner told the "Eugene Register-Guard" that though the investigation showed that LaThorpe ran a red light at the intersection, the evidence doesn't support criminal charges.
