House Clears Cable-barrier Bill

(Salem, OR)  --  A measure that will require cable barriers to be installed along some stretches of Oregon Interstate highways is headed to the governor.  The House has given final legislative approval to the measure, which would require that the barriers be placed in the median if the space between opposing lanes of traffic is 100 feet or less.  Supporters of the bill say it's intended to prevent crossover crashes on Interstate highways.
