(Portland, OR) -- Portland city officials say a newly-opened homeless camp housing battered women will have to close soon. The camp was opened by a nonprofit organization Sunday on Southeast 93rd Avenue and Woodstock. KATU-TV quotes city officials as saying the women will be offered several options, including help to get into another shelter, vouchers for motels, or a permanent place to go in the next couple of weeks. Organizers say they'll stay on the current camp site until every woman has a safe place to go.
