(Gladstone, OR)  --  Authorities say a suspect who shot a police officer just before a hostage situation in Gladstone is being hospitalized.  Police say after officers tried to pull a man over on his bike yesterday, he went to a Southeast McLoughlin Boulevard Subway restaurant and fired at a police officer in the parking lot, hitting the officer in his ballistic vest.  Authorities say the suspect then barricaded himself inside the Subway and held a woman hostage.  Police say the situation came to an end around eight o'clock last night when the suspect was shot and apprehended.  The hostage was unharmed.
