(Portland, OR) -- The union representing Portland police officers says it's reached a tentative agreement with the city. The Portland Police Association says it hopes the deal will alleviate staffing shortages by bringing well-trained and experienced officers to the Police Bureau. Under the contract, police officers would receive a raise, but a rule that allows officers up to 48 hours before being interviewed about use-of-force complaints would be eliminated. Union members will vote on whether to ratify the contract.
