Portland Lyft Driver Banned For Carrying Stun Gun In Car

(Portland, OR)  --  A Portland Lyft driver says she's been banned from driving for the ride-share company because she had a stun gun and used it to defend herself from a threatening passenger.  The woman tells KATU-TV she pulled out the Taser and told the man she would use it because he refused to get out of her vehicle after she repeatedly demanded he do so.  She says she reported the incident to Lyft, who told her she was banned because she violated the company's weapons policy.  She says she's hoping Lyft will re-evaluate the policy.
