(Portland, OR) -- President Trump is tapping an Oregon prosecutor for a seat on a federal bench. Trump has nominated Assistant U.S. Attorney Ryan W. Bounds to serve on the 9th U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals. If he's confirmed by the U.S. Senate, the 44-year-old will replace Circuit Judge Diarmuid O'Scannlain, who is stepping back from a full caseload. Bounds graduated from Stanford University and Yale Law School, and has been with the U.S. attorney's office in Portland for seven years. He was one of 16 people to receive judicial nominations yesterday from Trump.
