Investigation Continues Into SW Washington Poaching Case

(Seattle, WA)  --  The investigation continues into a network of alleged poachers in Southwest Washington.  Investigators with the Washington Department of Fish and Wildlife tell the Seattle Times they've never seen a poaching case as big, or as disturbing, as the one they're currently investigating.  Investigators believe a group of at least eight people illegally hunted and killed dozens of animals including bobcats, black bears and elk over a period of two years in the Gifford Pinchot National Forest.  Investigators say GPS tags attached to photos and videos on the suspects' cellphones led them to several of their hunting spots, where they found animal carcasses that had been left to rot.  The investigation started last November after a motion-triggered police camera in Oregon caught two of the suspects spotlighting from a truck near The Dalles before getting out with rifles and head lamps.
