(Tigard, OR) -- Oregon-based Consumer Cellular is trying to ease any fears senior citizens might have about using tablets. The wireless carrier that has focused on selling mobile phones to seniors, is now targeting the demographic for tablets and "smart home" equipment. It's looking to offer simpler technology for hesitant adopters and the physically challenged. Consumer Cellular this month begins adding to its list of products the GrandPad, a touch-screen model designed for the older user who might be scared off by the iPad. Users can hold video chats with the family, look at photos and check the news.
