(Portland, OR)  --  The city of Portland is hiring more than four-dozen new police officers.  Mayor Ted Wheeler says an agreement with city councilors makes room in the budget for the city to hire 49 new Portland Police officers.  That's only three fewer officers than Wheeler had initially requested.
