Man Who Stole Ricky Best's Wedding Ring Facing New Charge

(Portland, OR)  --  A homeless man who stole the wedding ring off the finger of one of the men killed in last year's knife attack on a MAX train is facing new charges.  Court records show George Elwood Tschaggeny has been sentenced to 20 days in jail for violating his probation.  Tschaggeny pleaded guilty to theft, identity theft and tampering with physical evidence last November for taking the ring and a wallet off the body of Ricky Best, who was stabbed to death last May after standing up for a pair of Muslim women who were being harassed.  Tschaggeny has served one and a half months in prison for the crimes.
