PSU Officers Escape Charges In Fatal Shooting

(Portland, OR)  --  Two police officers are escaping criminal charges in connection to the shooting death of a man near Portland State University in June.  A Multnomah County grand jury decided yesterday not to indict PSU officers James Dewey and Shawn McKenzie, saying they were justified in the shooting.  The officers shot and killed Jason Washington June 29th after a gun fell out of his holster while he was trying to break up a fight.  Police say Washington had a concealed carry permit.
