(Undated) -- This year's wildfires in Oregon are costing a record amount. Data from the Northwest Interagency Coordination Center puts the cost of fighting wildfires in Oregon at 514-million-dollars. This fire season, Oregon had over 18-hundred fires that burned over 800-thousand acres. A spokeswoman for the NWCC tells the Salem Statesman Journal what made this year's fires so expensive was that large fires lasted months, not weeks. They also had larger fires closer to populated areas.
