(Portland, OR) -- A Portland man is suing UPS over a question about race on an employment application. The Oregonian reports that Kaon-Jabbar East El claims that United Parcel Service required him to check a box stating his ethnicity. He says in the 600-thousand-dollar lawsuit that there was no suitable choice for him to make, and no box for "other." He says the question violated his religious beliefs of Islamism. UPS doesn't comment on pending legal actions, but they say their workplace is free from discrimination.
