(Springfield, OR)  --  One person is dead and two officers are recovering following a shooting in Springfield.  Police say the officers were involved in short car chase late Sunday night before it ended with an exchange of gunfire near Highway 126 and 42nd Street.  The officers were taken to McKenzie Willamette Hospital for what authorities have only said are non-life threatening injuries.  Investigators are still gathering details about what happened.
