(Bandon, OR) -- One person is hurt after two cars crashed into a giant sinkhole. The Coos County Sheriff's Office says the ten-foot-deep and 50-foot-wide hole opened Wednesday night on a stretch of Oregon Highway 42S near Bandon. One passenger was taken to a hospital for unknown injuries while the others refused medical attention. The Oregon Department of Transportation believes water pooled uphill caused it. The highway which connects Bandon to Coquille will be closed into next week.
