(Eugene, OR)  --  The Eugene-Springfield area is jumping 57 spots on the list of most polluted areas in the country.  The 2019 State of the Air report by the American Lung Association puts Eugene-Springfield at number 38 for annual particle pollution.  It ranked 98th last year.  The report attributes the spike to events like wildfires and wood burning for heat during winter months.
