(Marion County, OR)  --  A Portland man is safe after the plane he was piloting caught fire mid-flight.  Authorities say 73-year-old Eugene Mitchell was flying from the Albany area to the Aurora airport when he was forced to land in a field.  He was not seriously hurt, but the plane was destroyed.  The Federal Aviation Administration is investigating.
