(St. Helens, OR) -- A deer is doing OK after being rescued from a water treatment tank in St. Helens. Columbia River Fire and Rescue says the deer got stuck in the tank at the St. Helens Water Treatment Plant yesterday morning. Authorities say most of the tank was 25 feet deep, and the deer had just one small area where it was able to stand without becoming submerged in the water. Crews created a makeshift ramp out of a ladder and encouraged the deer to climb up. Crews say the deer then ran off into the woods. It did not appear to be injured.
