PSU Outlines New Safety Plan, Won't Disarm Officers

(Portland, OR)  --  Portland State University won't be disarming its police officers.  University interim president Stephen Percy made that announcement at a Board of Trustees meeting yesterday while outlining a new plan for campus safety.  Part of the plan includes increasing the number of non-sworn officers from six to ten.  Non-sworn officers don't carry firearms.  The campus's ten sworn officers will continue to be armed with guns.
