Chinook Fishing Banned On Wilson River Due To Die-Off

(Portland, OR)  --  The state Department of Fish and Wildlife is banning chinook salmon fishing on the Wilson River due to a large die-off of the fish.  Officials say low water levels upstream are forcing salmon to remain further downstream, helping the spread of a parasite likely responsible for the die-off.  Chinook fishing is banned for the rest of the month from Blind Slough to Jordan Creek.
