Defense Begins Testimony In MAX Stabbing Case

(Portland, OR)  --  Testimony continues in the murder case against 2017 MAX stabbing suspect Jeremy Christian.  The defense began laying out its case in court yesterday after the prosecution rested its case in chief last week.  During yesterday's testimony, the defense questioned the owner of a business that trains employees in self-defense, de-escalation and use of force.  Stephen Yerger testified that victim Micah Fletcher escalated the situation by being confrontational.  Christian is accused of stabbing Taliesin Namkai-Meche and Ricky Best to death and injuring Micah Fletcher on a MAX train in 2017 after they stood up for two Muslim women whom Christian was verbally assaulting.
