Republicans Flee Salem To Prevent Action On Cap-And-Trade Bill

(Salem, OR)  --  Oregon Senate Republicans are staging a walkout to stop a vote on a cap-and-trade bill aimed at mitigating man-made climate change.  The Oregonian reports Republicans fled the state Capitol yesterday.  Without a quorum, the Senate can't meet.  Republicans want the bill sent to voters, but Governor Kate Brown says voters elected her and the Democrat super majorities in the House and Senate to make the bill a law.  Lawmakers have until March 8th to resolve the issue.
